Private detective Willem Lotriet makes his living largely from taking down unfaithful spouses and with that he can barely pay his Tazz installment. When he is approached by Johan Lombard to track down one Sanet de Villiers, Willemsy believes his luck has turned. Johan was acquitted years ago after being suspected of complicity in a bank robbery. And the Sanet that Johan is now looking for apparently disappeared with the money at the time.

Willem states throughout that this case is much more than a mere summary; after all, there is money involved and enough of it to drive someone to murder.
