Scrapbooking - cream of the crop is a compilation and showcase of the work of the top 54 entrants of the South African International Scrapbook Exhibition 2004, a talent competition held at Caesar's Palace in Johannesburg. It contains hotographs of the entrants' work and serves as a source of ideas and inspiration for new scrappers and for those who have already become passionate about the craft. More than 600 entrants from all over South Africa competed in the competition for a spectacular prize of thousands of rands' worth of scrapbooking products. The winners were announced at a gala function held in September 2004 and the work of the top four was featured in a well-known scrapbooking magazine. Scrapbooking is fast becoming one of the most popular crafts in South Africa. It requires passion, a degree of creativity and minimum skill, which is why it is also finding favour with so many women throughout the world. It showcases photographs and memorabilia in a creative and unforgettable way, and all the equipment and materials required for the hobby are readily available.
